Newborns sleep a lot, and sleep in general is something that occupies everyone’s mind when they have children. Therefore, it is important that your child has a safe and secure place to rest, both at night and for naps during the day. At FLEXA we have designed several beautiful cots in a clean and stylish design that fits perfectly into the Scandinavian décor scheme. The design is timeless and fits well in with the children's furniture from FLEXA Baby, so you can pass on the cot to other babies in the family.
Among our cots you will find the popular beech wood cot designed by furniture designer Hans Sandgren. The bed is incredibly versatile and flexible in that it can be adjusted in five different stages. You can start by using the bed as a classic cot with the mattress platform raised. As your child grows and becomes more mobile, the platform of the bed can be lowered. Later, three of the middle bars can be removed, giving your child the ability to crawl in and out of bed on their own. The cot can also be transformed into a sofa when the front is altogether removed and wheels can be put on the bed so that it can easily be moved around the home as needed. In our selection of cots, you will also find the FLEXA Dots cot designed by Charlotte Høncke. The bed in MDF with legs in solid ash is also a great cot in a beautiful and modern design, where your child can sleep really well and wake up well rested and ready for a day full of adventure.
CONNECTING WITH YOUR BABY DURING DIAPER CHANGE
You may not think about it until you have your baby in your arms and are about to create a day-to-day routine for the whole family, but actually one of the places where you typically want to spend the most time with your baby is, surprisingly enough at the changing table. Not just because a toddler requires a lot of diaper changes during one day. But also because it is often at the changing table that you cuddle a little extra with your baby, dress him or her, pamper with massage, lubricate their soft baby skin with moisturizer and support your baby in neck training by ensuring plenty of quality time on the stomach.
A well-functioning changing table is a must. The changing table itself should have a suitable height so that you can easily lean over your baby and maintain good eye contact. At the same time, it is practical with storage options right at the changing table, so there is room for everything from diapers to clothes, lotions and a small toy that your baby can enjoy while having his or her diaper changed. As with the other furniture in the FLEXA Baby collection, our high chair can also be modified to fit your child’s changings needs throughout childhood. The ergonomic chair can be used both as a high chair for the youngest children, where it is combined with a safety bar, cushion and an optional tray. There is a well-known saying that you eat with your eyes first – but when it comes to babies they first and foremost eat with their hands. When you first present solid foods to your baby, they will investigate its consistency, smell and taste, which is all done sitting comfortably in a good chair.
With a FLEXA baby chair, your little one can join the rest of the family around the dining room table, while sitting securely and comfortably. In a high chair, the child reaches a height, where they can be at eye level with their parents and siblings. With the high chair we recommend the safety bar with a safety strap and T-belt. AN ADJUSTABLE CHAIR THAT GROWS WITH THE CHILD
Our high chair from the Baby collection is a chair with many adjustable features. The chair can, incredibly enough, be used by both babies and teenagers that is why this chair is a good investment, since it remains useful for many years. The chair is recommended for children age 8 months and up.
When your baby is older the chair can be modified to fit the needs of toddlers from age three and up, which is done by moving the foot plate and removing the safety bar. You can change the legs with shorter ones, which you can buy below, to make it a junior chair that your child can enjoy from age 5 to 12. The changeable legs are available in both natural coloured beech wood and white painted.

The cot from our Baby collection can be altered in five different ways that fits the child changing needs as he or she grows up. When your baby is first born, the cot is used with the mattress platform raised. As the little one becomes more mobile, the platform is lowered to ensure their safety. With an older child that is also more independent, you can remove the middle three bars from the cot, so the child can crawl out of bed by themselves. Later, the front can be altogether removed to convert the cot into a little sofa. You can even attach wheels to the legs of the cot, so it is easy to move from room to room, depending on where the baby should sleep. Most children sleep with a teddy bear or another object that they find comfort in, and helps them sleep soundly at night. In our bed pockets there is room for the child to store the things, they would like to have close at hand when they go to bed. They can store a book, water bottle, or other things that are useful during the night. The FLEXA bed pockets are great for storing toys, especially if your child like to play in their bed during the day, perhaps because they already have a FLEXA bed tent.

You will find the bed pockets in our popular series of play textiles that come in beautiful prints and colours. Among our play textiles you will also find play curtains, tents, back rest cushions, and bean bags that all help foster children’s imagination and creativity. The high chair is designed by Hans Sandgren and is part of our BABY collection. For the young ones, a safety bar can be added on the chair, add a cushion for support in the back and a tray, and the high chair is perfect for the youngest in the family. The chair can be adjusted into three different heights and modified into a junior chair for children age 5-12 years old. The chair is perfect for the dining room table, so even the little ones can be part of the dining experience. The legs of the kids chair are made from beech wood, while the seat is made of plastic, which makes it easy to clean either with a cloth or you can put it in the dishwasher.

A click-on desk is mounted on the high sleeper’s frame. The desk table tops are available in the Classic and White collections, and come in neutral colours that will fit well into any children’s bedroom. For a high sleeper desk mounted on the wall, you can choose one with or without shelves. The desk table tops are easy to mount on the high bed’s frame, and you can choose to decorate the space around the desk with practical shelves.
A desk is nothing without a good study chair, so your child can sit comfortably, in the optimal ergonomic position. The FLEXA Popsicle bed frames are made of solid oak and oak veneer. The mid-high and high bed is also the perfect solution if you want more storage space in the room or a cosy space for quiet moments. Under the Popsicle beds you will be able to fit our chests, bookcases or our play tables and stools - all in the same colour pallet. You should feel at ease tucking your child in at night, and your child should go to bed feeling safe. Many children sleep uneasy at night, so it is a good idea to put a bedrail on their bed, so you are absolutely sure that the child cannot fall out of bed at night. Fortunately, it is simple to add a safety rail on one of the many beds from FLEXA. Choose among our many great bed rails for kids’ beds from our Dots, Nor, White and Popsicle collections - we also have bunk bed rails in beautiful colors for both boys and girls.

BED RAILS THAT CAN BE ADAPTED TO THE CHILD'S NEEDS
It is nice to know that your child can sleep safely without having to worry about them falling out of bed at night. Our bed rails for kids are easy to mount on our many different bed types and to take off again if it is no longer needed. On our high beds we always recommend that you use a bed rail, while on a low single bed it is not always necessary to keep the safety rail on when the child gets a bit older and sleeps less uneasy at night. For a bunk bed a rail is also recommended. At FLEXA, we advise the use of a bed rails until the child is 6 years old, but it is entirely up to you as parents to assess.
The kids bed rails from the Dots and Popsicle collections are designed by Charlotte Høncke and Herman Studio respectively. The Dots safety rails are manufactured from birch wood and painted MDF, while the Popsicle collection’s rails are made of painted solid birch. In other words, only durable, quality materials have been used.
